Psychic Protection Tip #17

Boundaries My latest series of psychic protection tips has been on learning to control your empathy in order to lead a healthier, happier, more balanced life. In my October 2014 Newsletter Editorial I said that empathy can be both a curse and a blessing, and that one major characteristic of empaths is that they lack boundaries. As our world becomes more crowded, and also more evolved, more and more people are developing greater empathic skills, and just when they need stronger boundaries, their boundaries are weakening. So what can you do to improve your personal boundaries? One basic rule is to first do on the purely physical level everything you can to deal with your problems. Only after you’ve exhausted what you can do physically do you move to those things you can do energetically. Remember, we are here on the physical plane because we are born to deal with physicality! So how can you improve your personal boundaries physically? Give yourself the right to say ‘NO’. Give yourself the right to ‘WALK AWAY’. Give yourself the right to assert YOUR OWN NEEDS AND DESIRES. If you are moving in with someone else, establish personal boundaries and ‘house rules’ right away. Make sure you have personal time for yourself each and every day. Claim a room or a space in your home and at work that is reserved for your private use. Turn the telephone off two hours before bed time. Give yourself the right to not answer the phone, or a text or email if it stresses you to do so. Answer it another time, or not at all. Take 3 deep breaths to ground and center yourself whenever you feel out of balance. Paint your office and your home in colors that sooth your spirit and heal your soul. Spend time with nature as often as you can. Play music that you find soothing, or give yourself silence. Add to this list anything else YOU can think of that gives you space and time and helps you feel more balanced in the environments you live in each day. Here are some things you can do energetically that will help to improve your boundaries: Do the Chakra Exercise daily. You’ll find a free audio version on my website sandyanastasi.com, and a downloadable video for sale as well. Do some form of meditation daily. Shower daily, and see the water as white light cleaning your aura. Be in touch with your emotions. If something or someone makes you feel uncomfortable emotionally, it is invading your boundaries. Put yourself in a protective energy balloon, surround yourself with a mirror facing out that you visualize, or leave the situation. Likewise if a physical space makes you feel uncomfortable, clear it with salt and water or incense, re-arrange the furniture to alter the energy flow, or leave the space. Empathy: Gift or Curse? Hello Everyone, This month I am going to address the subject of empathy. I introduced this last month in my psychic protection tip and so many of you wanted to know more about it. Some of you reading this may not be familiar with what empathy is, and in fact empathy is often confused with compassion. But it is absolutely NOT the same thing. When you are experiencing compassion for another, you are feeling sadness or sympathy or sometimes a more positive emotion such as amusement or relief on their behalf. You may even feel like reaching out and offering help to them, as you understand their situation.   Perhaps you have even gone through something similar to what they are going through now, so you really feel motivated to help, if you can.  But this is not empathy. Compassion is based on intellectual understanding. Empathy is very different. When you are feeling empathy, you are not feeling sorry for someone. You are feeling their sorrow as if it is your own. You are not crying for them…you are crying as if you are them.  When you are experiencing empathy, you feel another’s pain, anger, fear, or conversely joy, happiness or love as if it is your own. One of the curses of empathy is that it has no boundaries and so people who are naturally empathic often lack boundaries and become lost in other people. When you reach out to help someone who is hurting as an Empath, you feel you have no choice. Helping them is the only way to put an end to your own pain, or any other negative emotion you may be feeling. When there are no boundaries the only way to keep out the pain is to fix the source. My own first conscious experience with empathy occurred when I was in middle school. My softball team was having a practice session (I played first base) when the runner on third slid sideways into the plate, spraining her ankle. She must have been a projective Empath because instantly I felt a burst of adrenaline hit my whole body as she screamed out in pain. I sprang into action, was the first to reach her, knelt beside her and then froze as my body began to shake, like hers, and then burst out into an all-over sheen of sweat. She was going into shock and I was feeling it as if it was my own. A shadow fell over me as my coach made her way through the gathering crowd, told everyone to back off, and then touched my shoulder. Her touch brought my awareness back to me, and I burst into tears, because I was still feeling the runner’s hurt, pain, and fear – just from one step out. The coach told me to run for ice, and the school nurse. I was never so grateful to be given something to do, so that I could get away, but still...

Are Your Animals Tuned In To You?

I was sitting here contemplating on what I should write about this month… Thanksgiving and all that I am thankful for.. family, friends, freedom and so on…. which I am by the way…. VERY thankful for my life and everyone I am connected to…. and then my Baby Laney popped into my head. I am ‘so’ very thankful that Laney came into my life!For those who don’t know, Baby Laney is my 2 year old Pekingese. She is my world and my happiness. And she teaches me something valuable about life ‘all the time’! I’m so glad I know how to pay attention to her, because I would miss so much fun and laughter if I did not. But I would also miss some very important clues from her, about myself. Let me explain in my little Libra Lisa way…Animals are hyper sensitive to energy. Our energy, other pet’s energy, tv’s, radios and so on. Everything on the planet is made up of energy and our pets fall right into the middle of picking up on every little vibration! So, it would be correct to say that our animals pick up on ‘our’ energy very strongly because they are so in tune with us… with our vibration. Which brings me to my point. I have many clients who come to me with animal questions… wanting to know why they are depressed or why they won’t eat. Asking me why they seem angry (the pet, not the client) and why have they started biting when they use to be so very sweet.. and do you know what my first question always is? “What’s going on in ‘your’ life that reflects how your pet is acting”? That one catches people off guard, but think about that for a moment. When your pet seems ‘off’… what is going on in your own life that they may be ‘soaking up’ through your vibration? When you get angry, they feel that! When you are sad you might find them laying in the floor looking at you like they have lost their best friend. When you have an argument or yell in front of your pet, they might start acting out because of that energy you are projecting. And when you are happy and content, I bet your pet is also.   I guess Laney and I needed to write this because we want to make people aware of the fact that our ‘babies’ react to our emotions and physical actions. And it’s sort of an easy fix, if that is in fact the case… remember they are sensitive to you, your needs, your moods… so the next time your pet seems to be acting a little strange.. before running to the vet, take time to ‘check in’ with your own emotions and see how your day has gone.
