April 2018 Astrolights

The focus this month is on relationships and their interactions. More specifically, dependency vs independence. This directly relates to how you view yourself in a family and traditional setting. With Sun, Mercury and Uranus in Aries, Mars, Saturn and Pluto In Capricorn and the Moon traveling through Libra, the open end of the T-square creates tremendous pressure in Cancer and on issues concerning the home, family and tradition. Perhaps now new traditions will be forged in place of old protocols.  Venus’ position in Taurus and Jupiter’s opposition from Scorpio gives this a very strong undercurrent and overall flavor of power struggles based on our resources and how we view our own effectiveness in handling relationship issues. Think slowly and carefully before you change a rapport that has served you.

On the 15th Mercury turns direct in Aries. Have no fear in speaking about what you see relative to others and their motivation. This will let others know that you see where their efforts are directed and are taking steps to keep control of your own destiny.

With a new Moon occurring in Aries on April 16th this concern with independence asserts itself squarely in you day to day dealings with others. There’s a delicate balance between remaining self- sufficient and “biting the hand that feeds you.”  A level and clear-thinking head is necessary if you are to balance the two successfully.

On the 18th Saturn turns retrograde in Capricorn, the Sun moves into Taurus on the 20th, and Pluto turns retrograde in Capricorn. This only serves to confirm the importance for practicality and common sense and properly assessing how you’ve used your resources in the past. The patience pf Taurus and the organizational skills of Saturn are much needed for a successful balance of action and policy. This is especially true for your career pursuits. The presence of Pluto’s change serves to show the depth to which these changes will take effect.

On the 30th the Moon becomes full in Scorpio. How we connect with others and their resources now becomes much more apparent. This will show us if we’ve made the “right” decisions relative to what others want of us and what they are capable of relative to our input or abstinence. Do you like how things are going? Yes? The great. If not, you’d better scramble to reset your actions and protocols before the habit become “cast in stone.”
